  • Condition: This offering is for an old antique carved Baleen Whale Plaque. The plaque measures app. 17" long and in addition to being a very well done figure of the whale it's also engraved with the state of Alaska and reads "TOP OF THE WORLD PT BARROW ALASKA". The carving is also signed on the back by the artist "PERRY AKOOTCHOOK". Perry Ignavina Akootchook was born in 1918 and passed away in 1997. He lived a great deal of his life in and around Kaktovik, North Slope Borough, Alaska. The condition of the artwork is outstanding with no cracks, breaks or losses. The engravings are well done and it displays beautifully.
